This is a central piece from Collection Calm. Artwork can be used dually as a vase or sculptural object when turned upside-down. The unique form of this glass piece is achieved with a deeper relief imprint that reveals the plasticity of this versatile material. A delicate white line and a unique imprint recreates ethereal sensations of Nature’s phenomena – fog and dew. Each object is made from free formed mouth–blown glass that reveals the plasticity and brilliant shine of the glass through special imprints, where the glass once touched metal. An Antique Latvian linen-craft tool was used to achieve this imprint and it has become a distinctive feature of Collection Calm. The employment of this archaic artefact signifying the timeless relationship between Nature’s phenomena and ancient Latvian craft tradition which is expressed in Contemporary Glass Art through symbolic ‘imprint of time’.
