Capsule Collection  ‘Born in Japan’

Continuing philosophy of nature and Latvian traditional tool applied to achieve the specific shape of items for Calm, this capsule collection was created in Seto, Japan summer 2018.

Glass bowls and trays in various sizes are made entirely by Baiba herself, including mouth-blowing, glass sawing, sanding and polishing leaving an especially personal and intimate imprint.

W a b i – s a b i  philosophies of aesthetics, small scale and intimate gatherings are closely felt when observing these intricate cloud-like pieces.

Each item can be used dually as a bowl or a tray when turned upside–down. Inspired by Japanese culture and sense of beauty, Baiba suggests to use these bowls as vases for minimal flower arrangement  ‘Ikebana’.

Part of those artworks are included in the public collection of the Seto City Art Museum in Japan and private collections worldwide.
